In Bangladesh, a well-written English CV is essential for jobs at NGOs, multinational companies, garment export firms, IT companies, and international organisations. Even local companies increasingly prefer English CVs — it signals professionalism and communication skills.
বাংলাদেশে এনজিও, মাল্টিন্যাশনাল, গার্মেন্টস এক্সপোর্ট, আইটি ফার্ম — সব জায়গায় ইংরেজি সিভি দরকার। এটা শুধু তথ্য নয়, তোমার ইংরেজি দক্ষতারও প্রমাণ।
CV Structure — সিভির গঠন
A strong English CV has 5 sections in this order:
১. Contact Information — যোগাযোগের তথ্য ২. Professional Summary — সংক্ষিপ্ত পরিচিতি ৩. Work Experience — কাজের অভিজ্ঞতা ৪. Education — শিক্ষাগত যোগ্যতা ৫. Skills — দক্ষতা

Keep this simple and professional.

❌ Avoid: Your father's name, religion, marital status, or national ID number. These are standard in older Bangladeshi CVs but look unprofessional to international employers.
এই তথ্যগুলো পুরনো ধাঁচের। আধুনিক ইংরেজি সিভিতে বাবার নাম, ধর্ম, বৈবাহিক অবস্থা লেখে না।
Section 2: Professional Summary — সংক্ষিপ্ত পরিচিতি
2-3 sentences. Tell the employer who you are, what you do, and what you offer.
Template:
[Job title] with [X years] of experience in [field]. Skilled in [key skill 1] and [key skill 2]. Seeking a position where I can [what you want to contribute].
Example:
Marketing professional with 4 years of experience in digital advertising and brand management. Skilled in social media strategy and data analysis. Seeking a role where I can drive brand growth for an international consumer goods company.
২-৩ বাক্যে বলো: তুমি কে, কী করো, কী দিতে পারো। এটাই নিয়োগকর্তার চোখ আটকে দেয়।
Section 3: Work Experience — কাজের অভিজ্ঞতা
List jobs in reverse chronological order (most recent first).
Format:

The key: use action verbs + numbers
সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়: শুধু দায়িত্ব লেখো না, সাফল্য লেখো — এবং সংখ্যা ব্যবহার করো।

Section 4: Education — শিক্ষাগত যোগ্যতা
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
Dhaka College — 2017–2019
GPA: 5.0/5.0
Note: Write your degree in full English. "SSC" and "HSC" are understood in Bangladesh but write the full form too for international employers.
আন্তর্জাতিক নিয়োগকর্তার জন্য SSC = Secondary School Certificate, HSC = Higher Secondary Certificate পুরো নামটা লিখে দাও।
Section 5: Skills — দক্ষতা
Group your skills by type:
Technical: Microsoft Office (Advanced), Google Analytics, Python (Basic)
Languages: Bengali (Native), English (Professional), Hindi (Conversational)
Other: Project management, Public speaking, Team leadership
IELTS বা ইংরেজি সার্টিফিকেট থাকলে অবশ্যই লিখবে:
English: IELTS 7.0 (2024) — এটা অনেক মূল্যবান।
Common CV Mistakes — সাধারণ ভুলগুলো
1. "I am a hardworking person." ❌ Everyone says this. Show it with evidence instead. ✅ "Delivered 3 client projects simultaneously under tight deadlines."
2. Spelling errors ❌ "Recieved", "Managment", "Expereince" ✅ Always run spell-check. Use Grammarly (free version works well). বানান ভুল সিভি সরাসরি বাতিল করিয়ে দেয়।
3. Unprofessional email address

4. Photograph on the CV For international companies, do not include a photo — it is considered unprofessional in most Western hiring cultures. আন্তর্জাতিক প্রতিষ্ঠানের জন্য সিভিতে ছবি দিও না।
5. Too long Under 5 years of experience: 1 page maximum. 5-10 years: 2 pages. অভিজ্ঞতা ৫ বছরের কম হলে সিভি ১ পাতার বেশি হওয়া উচিত নয়।
Cover Letter — একটি ছোট নোট
Many Bangladeshi applicants skip the cover letter. Don't. A 3-paragraph cover letter in clear English immediately separates you from 90% of applicants.
Paragraph 1: Which job and why you are applying. Paragraph 2: Your most relevant achievement. Paragraph 3: A confident closing.
