Some i Any en anglès — quan s'usa cadascun (guia definitiva)

La regla bàsica

SOME → frases afirmatives:

• I have some friends in London.
• There's some milk in the fridge.

ANY → negatives i preguntes:

• I don't have any friends in London.
• Is there any milk in the fridge?

Tots dos funcionen amb incomptables (some milk) i comptables en plural (some friends).

L'excepció que tothom suspèn: some en preguntes

Quan una "pregunta" és en realitat una oferta o una petició, usem some:

Ofertes:

• Would you like some tea? (t'ofereixo te — espero un sí)
• Do you want some help?

Peticions:

• Can I have some water, please?
• Could you lend me some money?

La lògica: no estàs preguntant si existeix el te — estàs oferint-lo. La resposta esperada és afirmativa, i per això la forma també ho és.

Any en afirmatives: "qualsevol"

Any en una frase afirmativa canvia de significat — vol dir "qualsevol":

• You can take any bus — they all go to the centre. (qualsevol autobús)
• Call me any time. (a qualsevol hora)
• Any student can join the club. (qualsevol estudiant)

Els compostos: something, anything, someone, anyone

Segueixen exactament la mateixa lògica:

• I heard something. / I didn't hear anything. / Did you hear anything?
• Someone called you. / No one called. / Did anyone call?
• Let's go somewhere nice. / We didn't go anywhere.

I l'excepció de les ofertes també s'hi aplica:

• Would you like something to drink?

No + any = none

Compte amb la doble negació — l'anglès no la permet:

❌ I don't have nothing. ✅ I don't have anything. = I have nothing.

❌ There isn't nobody here. ✅ There isn't anybody here. = There is nobody here.

Una negació per frase: o el verb en negatiu + any, o el verb en positiu + no/nothing/nobody.
